Using music to elevate your mindset

This afternoon has been beautiful. I've been quietly working away, nothing special has happened per se, yet it's been the most beautiful love-filled day and I'm going to tell you how I do it. Everything has been easy, answers to questions just reveal themselves to me, I am in flow, I am happy, I am productive, and that means I have also taken ample time to rest, have a solid lunch break and all whilst feeling absolutely in love with my life.

Now for FULL DISCLOSURE this DOES NOT mean things have not also gone tits-up - I've made a few mistakes, and I'm definitely procrastinating on a big (exciting) project that I just can't give my energy to right now, but you know what - none of that is a problem because I choose to see the good instead of focussing on the bad.

How do I do that?

Well, I choose to cultivate love and one of my favorite ways to do that is through music.

You see, learning the art of cultivating absolutely any feeling I desire, simply because I can is a game changer. So can you.

You see, if you're not aware of the subconscious programming you currently operate under we become a victim to our emotions and we lose our sense of control that we have on life. We become routined in not just our habits but also our emotions.

This applies to you if go through your day feeling... well... nothing. Unless something happens, you just focus on getting through the day only to get up and do it all again tomorrow. Just going through the motions... Am I right?

But when you get coached by me, you learn quite quickly that you are in charge of your programming, so you get to choose how you want to feel moving forward. You learn how to do this and then what to do with it when you notice it. You learn to take radical responsibility of your life and it starts with identifying the programming, aka the thoughts and feelings that no longer serve you. Alongside this work you learn powerful tools to stay in your alignment every day - and this is one of them.

Shift your modus operandi by harnessing the power of music.

These days I don't normally listen to songs with words - they are often painful, sad, self defeating, victimising and yet, I also fully understand for this reason they perfectly capture how we feel sometimes. But you can use music to harness love too.... Just as music can capture our emotions and help us channel them, so too can it help us create, cultivate and activate

How often do you play music to get ready for a night out? Why not choose music to get ready to just feel good?

So this is my invitation to you today:

Choose a beautiful song, with or without words, and choose to cultivate the feeling of love, joy and happiness just because you want to, just because you can.

Let the feeling fill you. Let the words (if they have any) be directed at you, about you and for you. Imagine they are signing just for you. Is the song about falling in love and meeting The One, what if The One is you falling in love with you?

Do you hate your job right now and think about quitting all the time? Make the love song about your career, your bonus or your actual work.

Do you have a business challenge right now? Make the love song about your business, your offer, your clients.

Are you feeling pain and despair for the world and the injustices right now? Make your love song about healing for the people or loved ones who don't have this luxury right now. Let love fill your heart and in so doing extend this love to reach the people who need it.

Fall in love with the moment. Fall in love with the feeling it gives you. Fall in love with yourself for being able and willing to feel this feeling with no reason, no goal, no purpose except for the moment and to just be in the pleasure of it.

In time, you will realize you can cultivate that feeling without music. This is not the same as emotional bypassing. Emotional bypassing is choosing to ignore your emotions and ignore, repress, or bypass feeling them, instead of honoring your feelings and moving through it. This is about actively choosing to feel love when you have the choice to. So, if you have access to music and there is nothing that is otherwise demanding your attention, then why not?

If you're wondering what song I listened to that caused this email it was Hozier - Someone New. The lyrics - 'Every day I fall in love with someone new' - that someone new is me, is my business, is the transformation of my clients, for the state of this world and the hope I have for it and for the innocent victims of the senseless war and crimes that happen every day. Let love fill you - and from this place, you can better serve and find the good we so desperately need in our day and in the world. It starts with you, from within, before it extends anywhere else.

Give it a go and hit reply and let me know what song you listened to after this!

Go enjoy, and choose to have a beautiful day just because you can.
